Regeneration and Eternal Life

Regeneration: Holiness and Eternal Life
There is at least one other genetic trait which God has passed on to His children in the process of regeneration: life! God cannot die. He is eternal. And it is His life which is passed on to every believer through His "seed" during the miracle of regeneration. This is why those books and passages in Scripture which speak frequently of regeneration also speak of eternal life!
Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is begotten again, he cannot see the kingdom of God...For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:3,16
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
John 5:39-40
He who eats this bread will live forever. John 6:58

Picture in pamphlet version
Picture of a cloud/wind labeled HOLY SPIRIT, with a DNA strip inside it. . Next to the cloud it says: THE GENETIC (SPIRITUAL) COMPONENT OF GOD THAT HE CHOOSES TO PASS ON TO MAN:
Next to the sperm cell It is labeled: THE SPIRITUAL SEED OR "SPERMA" OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. possessing select genetic traits of God: Life, Inability to sin.. Use half a DNA strip to illustrate |
Picture of a man, labeled: THE OLD MAN (Romans 6:6, Eph. 4:22-24, Col. 3:9.) THE GENETIC (SPIRITUAL) COMPONENT THAT INCLUDES THE IMAGE OF GOD AND ACTUAL PERSONALITY, BUT NOT THE SIN NATURE. Arrow down from the man points to half a DNA strip labeled "Genetic/Spiritual traits in the image of God taken out of the old man, but not the entire man himself who is sinful. |
Arrows point to a person labeled "NEW MAN": Next to the picture of the new man it says: "Although spiritual in nature (John 3:6) it currently dwells in our physical body, and will be clothed in an "incorruptible" body at the resurrection."
The end paragraph reads:
Select "genetic" components (of a spiritual nature) are passed from the old man to the new man. This includes the intellect and personality which are created in the image of God. The sin nature however is not passed from the "old man" to the "new man" in this process. Though it is related to both God and the "old man", it is distinct from both! Like God, he possesses a sinless nature and eternal life!
