The following "testimony" was is copied verbatim from a baptism ceremony at Family Community Church, a seeker friendly church in San Jose, California. Only personal names have been altered. You should compare it to the Biblical standards of one's testimony, and grade it on its effectiveness in helping others to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
If you are in a small group, you should also attempt to draw some reasonable inferences on the level of discipleship, and the quality of gospel preaching that was taking place in the church that was baptizing this individual.

After moving to South San Jose in 2001, I spend nearly 3 years looking for a new church to call home. During that time I was able to take up the drums, primarily because I finally live somewhere where I could. In 2004, I found FCC, and have been attending there ever since. In 2005, I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior, and at the same time, decided to commit myself to helping and participating in the FCC singles group. And looking back, there is no doubt in my mind that it was God's plan for me at the time. Because since then, he has blessed me with the opportunity to play drums with the singles worship group, who, oddly enough, were having trouble finding a drummer up until then; and introduced me to a very special person in my life, Samantha Smith.
I like to thank my mom for making me go back to church as a kid my carpool buddy and friend, Adam Anderson, who kept my spiritual tank full during the time I was church searching and after. I'm also grateful to the FCC singles group as a whole for their support and encouragement in broadening my spiritual knowledge, and specifically Brad Bagwell, Charlie Caldwell, and David Dawson for their extensive knowledge of the word, inspiration, and contagious enthusiasm while talking about it. I've learned a lot from them all during the past few months I've attended Adams a small study group. And thanks to Elders Ernie and Eldridge for allowing a raw, inexperienced, rookie drummer who never actually expected to play in front of people, a chance to worship the Lord as a member of the singles worship band. Special thanks to Francine Fulbright who is impatient while the level of my spiritual and biblical knowledge slowly rises to hers.
